Summer Ballet Production

Bringing Classical Ballet Stories to Life

Each summer, dancers come together to bring a beloved ballet story to the stage through movement, music, and imagination.

Our annual Summer Ballet Production offers dancers from Ballet Intro through Ballet 5, along with adult ballet students at the Advanced Beginner level and above, the opportunity to experience the excitement of bringing a classical ballet to life in a specially adapted, approximately one-hour production.

Throughout the summer session, dancers learn choreography, develop their characters, and explore the artistry of storytelling through ballet. The experience culminates in combined rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and a live stage performance.

A Performance Experience for Every Level

Our Summer Ballet Production is designed to give dancers an engaging and rewarding performance experience while introducing them to classical ballet repertoire and theatrical storytelling.

  • Ballet Intro–Ballet 1.5: Dancers learn original choreography created by the production director, bringing characters and scenes to life through age-appropriate movement.
  • Ballet 2–Ballet 5 and Adults: Dancers explore original ballet repertoire whenever possible, with thoughtful modifications to accommodate their technical level and experience.

Beyond choreography, dancers develop musicality, stage presence, pantomime, and performance skills. Advanced dancers also gain valuable experience working in structured, fast-paced rehearsals modeled after professional ballet productions.

How to Participate

To join the Summer Ballet Production, dancers must enroll in:

  • A Summer Production rehearsal class at their assigned level.
  • At least one ballet technique class at their level during the summer session.

During the week leading up to the performance, rehearsal groups come together for an in-studio dress rehearsal, followed by an onstage dress rehearsal and the final production.
