Ballet Company
Ballet Company
For dancers ready to take their ballet training beyond the classroom.
Ballet Company gives dedicated ballet students the opportunity to deepen their training through
classical repertoire, private coaching, masterclasses, and ballet-focused competitions.
Throughout the season, dancers attend two to four competitions, performing a classical variation, contemporary ballet solo, or both. Along the way, they gain valuable stage experience, receive feedback from ballet professionals, learn from renowned guest faculty, and develop the discipline and attention to detail required to polish and perform ballet repertoire.
Training & Commitment
Company members receive weekly private coaching to prepare their competition pieces and are required to attend two to four ballet technique classes each week, in addition to Pointe and Ballet Variations.
Contemporary class is strongly encouraged for dancers preparing a contemporary ballet solo.
Is Ballet Company Right for Me?
Ballet Company is designed for dancers who demonstrate strong ballet technique, excellent class etiquette, consistent attendance, the ability to learn and retain choreography, and a genuine love of classical ballet.
Dancers must be at least 12 years old and have completed at least one year of Ballet 3, with Ballet 4 or higher preferred. Dancers competing en pointe are typically at least 14 with two or more years of pointe experience.
Interested dancers should contact Ballet Company Director Miss Nessa Kerr at
balletco@dancedreamstudios.com to discuss readiness.
Our Competition Philosophy
Competition is an opportunity to deepen your training - not just earn a placement.
Ballet competitions give dancers the opportunity to develop artistry, performance confidence, and knowledge of classical repertoire while receiving valuable feedback from ballet professionals.
Dancers set meaningful goals, challenge themselves technically and artistically, and become part of a community of like-minded dancers who share their love of ballet.
The goal is not simply to learn a variation. It is to grow into the artist capable of performing it.
